Kamini Naidoo

Speech Language Therapist /Director

I have been working as a Speech Language Therapist since 1997 and started my career after graduating with a Bachelor of Speech & Hearing therapy in Durban, South Africa. I moved to New Zealand in 1999 and have since worked in a number of settings including hospital, in the Education Sector , contracting to ACC and in private practice.

Cornerstone Therapy was initially started in 2001 to provide me with work-life balance. I am a mum to two school aged children and work full time as a Speech Language Therapist contracting to schools, ACC and private clients.

I believe in constantly up skilling by attending courses and workshops so that I can provide the best possible research driven therapy to my clients and their families.

I am a Makaton regional tutor for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty region and have completed the Compton P – ESL certification for accent reduction.


Samantha Bell

Speech Language Therapist

I’m a qualified Speech-Language Therapist who graduated from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland. I have been living and working here in New Zealand for the past five years and have gained experience working in schools and in private practice which has allowed me to work with a range of both adult and paediatric clients and their family whānau.

I work part time presently and enjoy the work-life balance I am currently privileged to have while my family are in their early years.

I am passionate about the speech-language therapy profession and am constantly striving to develop my skills and knowledge base with the aim of moving closer to reaching my personal and professional goals by helping the clients and their whānau under my care to achieve their own.


Shannon Mackintosh 

Speech Language Therapist

I am a qualified Speech and Language Therapist who graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Speech and Language Pathology in 2014. I currently work with a mix of Adults and Children, however have primarily worked with people with acquired neurological impairments such as brain injury and stroke.

I enjoy helping people of all ages achieve their goals by helping them to communicate and learn in the most functional way possible.


Fran Beckett

Occupational Therapist

I am a qualified occupational therapist who has been practising for the last 8 years. My expertise are predominantly paediatric based with some background in mental health. I am competent in assessing and providing intervention for children with a range of developmental conditions such as autism, global developmental delay, developmental coordination disorder etc. I have specialist skills in working with children who experience feeding difficulties. I seek ways to improve the quality of my practice and ensure that it is evidence based.

I work part time in order to have a balance of home/work as I am a mother of two preschool children. I enjoy working collaboratively with families and individuals to maximise independence and satisfaction in their ability to carry out activities and tasks in everyday life.

Alice Ives

Occupational Therapist

I qualified from Otago Polytechnic in 2008 with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. I have worked with people of all ages however primarily at the local Child Development Center. My passion is working with children and young people with both physical and cognitive disabilities. I have a particular interest in improving people’s independence through training or the use of equipment.


Rachel Vernon Rainey

Occupational Therapist

I have been practicing Occupational Therapy for over 20 years, with experience in the health systems of both New Zealand and England.  I have worked in a variety of settings, of which my preference is that of Physical Health and Ability.  The environments in which I have practiced include hospital/institutional bases, community, education, private practice, and private rehabilitation units and businesses.

I enjoy interaction with people with the focus on “helping others to help themselves”.  I believe we all have a skill and with guidance and support we can build on it.  Outside of my working life I have interests in both indoor and outdoor activities and live in a rural environment in the Matamata-Piako district of Waikato.


Carina Fraser

Occupational Therapist

I am a registered Occupational Therapist and I did my training in Sweden, graduating in 1992.

My experience includes a variety of settings, including hand therapy, neurology, orthopaedics, burns and rheumatology.

I came to New Zealand in 2000 and currently work part time while also caring for our two school aged children, as well as caring for a family member with special needs (ASD).

Having worked as a Hand Therapist for many years gives me the opportunity to use these skills to the benefit our clients, whether it is for splinting, hand assessments or exercise programs.


Anna Colville


I  graduated at the Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of health science – majoring in Physiotherapy in 2009. I worked as a rotational Physiotherapist at Waikato Hospital for 2 years before gaining a full time paediatric physiotherapy role, working on Waikato Hospitals inpatient children’s wards, outpatient clinics, neonatal unit and at the Child Development Centre.  I have a passion for working with children,  and started working for Cornerstone Therapy after starting my family in 2016.


Tarsh Munro


I graduated from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in 2002 with a Bachelor of Health Science- Physiotherapy.  I have worked in hospitals,aged care, rehab facilities and also the community.  I have a passion for rehabilitation and strive to help my patients reach their full potential.

I live with my husband and 2 young daughters.  We enjoy  spending time at the beach, baking and walks in the bush or round the lake.


Dr Michelle Petrino

Registered Clinical Psychologist

I am a Registered Clinical psychologist in private practice working with clients across the age spectrum but with a particular focus on child and adolescent mental health and assessment. I completed a doctoral level psychology program in the USA in 2008 and have worked in a variety of settings in both New Zealand and America including Child and Adolescent mental Health Clinic’s, The Child development Centre at Waikato Hospital, and a Neuropsychology Private practice.

Kirsty McMillan


I have two children aged 6 and 8. My husband and I have our own business in the audio visual and home automation industry. Before having children I worked in reception, administration, marketing and secretarial roles for 9 1/2 years. My interests and passions include baking, reading, keeping fit, movies, Church and spending time with family and friends.
